Dr. Olumide Philip, the owner of Dowen College was born on July 28 1945 and he went to Methodists Boy’s High School. His schooling in Methodist Boys was from 1959 to 1963.

He opted to study Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics at Igbobi College Lagos and he passed with distinctions. He then kicked off his career as an Engineer by serving under BP Oil Nigeria for 20 months.

Then he moved over to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1967 to study Mechanical Engineering. He came out of the university with a B.sc Hons in Mechanical Engineering, in 1970.
