Ranks in the Nigerian Army and their salaries is the Same as the Ranks in the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Air Force. Since this three branches of the Nigerian Military works together as one, they made their ranks equivalent to each other.
The Ranks in the Nigerian Army are divided into two different categories.
The Commissioned Officers and The Non Commissioned Officers
The Commissioned Officers are those Officers who joined the Nigerian Army as a graduate or those who joined the Nigerian Army through the Nigerian Defence Academy. Those who joined the Nigerian Army through the Nigerian Defence Academy spends a period of 5 Years before they are Commissioned into the Nigerian Army. Those who joined the Nigerian Army as a graduate spends either six months for DSSC or nine months for the SSC. The Nigerian Army DSSC means Direct Short Service Commission While the SSC means Short Service Combatant Commission. Before you can be able to join DSSC or SSC, You must be a Graduate. Which means you must Posses HND or BSC. Note that there is Difference between DSSC and SSC in the Nigerian Army.
The Non Commissioned Officers are those Officers who joined the Nigerian Army Recruitment with SSCE. They spend Six months in their training before they become a Soldier In the Nigerian Army.
